Im Rahmen der Internationalen Woche hält Prof. Stefan Petranek, Associate Professor of Photography der Herron School of Art & Design an der UI Indianapolis einen kurzen Vortrag über seine Forschung und sein Langzeitprojekt ‚The Future is Broken‘ über den Klimawandel und stellt das Design- und Fotografieprogramm der Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis vor. Petranek ist dort Programmkoordinator für den Studiengang Fotografie und Intermedia.
Gemeinsam mit Prof. Johanna Diehl entsteht im Sommersemester das Kooperationssprojekt „City in Transition“ zwischen der Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis und der Fakultät Gestaltung in Würzburg mit gemeinsamer Ausstellungseröffnung am Dienstag 13.5. 19:15 Uhr im Lichthof der Fakultät Gestaltung Würzburg.
Der Vortrag findet im Fotostudio der Fakultät Gestaltung statt, dazu wird ein Lunch gekocht durch Studierende des Kurses City in Transition.

Biographie:
Stefan Petranek (b. 1977) is an image-based artist and Associate Professor of Photography and Intermedia at Herron School of Art & Design at UI Indianapolis. He is the program coordinator for the Photography and Intermedia program.
Working with subjects that range from genetics to climate change, his work explores how contemporary culture, especially through advances in science and technology, affects our perception of nature.
As a 2021 Critical Mass Finalist and awardee of the 2018 Christel DeHaan Artist of Distinction Award, he regularly exhibits work nationally and internationally. Recently his work has appeared in The Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery (2023), The Mary Byrd Gallery at The University of Augusta (2023), The Ellen Noël Museum in Texas (2022), The Dittmar Gallery at Northwestern University (2021) and the Lishui Photography Festival in China (2021).
