All in!

100%, no compromises

As designers, we often fall into our own traps. We know our personal stumbling blocks all too well: overthinking and procrastinating, cutting corners on research, producing too few or underdeveloped concepts, and rushing through production and post-production. What happens when we take a deep dive into how we approach projects—and use a specific project as an opportunity to learn how to do “everything right” for a change?
In this course, we will work on self-initiated projects based on individual themes. It involves a concrete engagement with your own role as a designer, your approach, your methods, your standards, and your portfolio. The foundation for these independent projects is self-reflection: Who am I as a designer? What are my skills? What do I want? What are my methods? My themes? What do I stand for? How can I both challenge and nurture myself?

We will develop answers to these questions together and define our own project briefs. In doing so, we will create projects that are genuinely relevant to us as designers (keeping graduation in mind, too).

Although the course is titled “Moving Image,” other media are certainly possible.
