GRAPHIC SPACE

Compositions with graphics and typography in space

How can information be designed in a conceptually convincing way in space using typography, symbols, colours, images, shapes and materials?
The content basis for your project will be a text of your choice, e.g. a short text, an excerpt from literature, an essay or a report.

In various exercises on form/dimension, colour/material and graphics/typography, we will examine the effect of design parameters in a spatial context. As a final project, you will design a three-dimensional spatial composition, which you will implement in a model (analogue or digitally simulated) or alternatively as a small 1:1 installation. What is interesting here is the dimension your project takes on in relation to the viewer and how the spatial composition can support the narrative.

The design process in the course thrives on mutual exchange and free work in a workshop-like atmosphere. An excursion to visit exhibitions and museums is also planned. This is because consciously perceiving designed spaces and becoming aware of their complexity is an important aspect of our work in the course.

Questions about the course will be answered on 10 March 2026 from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m.
