This basic course provides an initial overview of the craft of photography and, building on this, an introduction to the artistic and creative exploration of the medium.
In small groups and individual exercises, we will try out different genres of photo history and deal with image structure, light and composition. We will talk about what a canon actually is, give each other keynote speeches on exemplary photographic positions and discuss the results of exercises. We will also address the question of how our own position is inscribed in the photographs and what happens when we transform things into images.
During the course, each person will develop their own project in order to focus on the task of finding a theme and realizing it photographically.
