This basic course provides an initial overview of the craft of photography and, building on this, an introduction to the artistic and creative exploration of the medium.

In small groups and individual exercises, we try out different genres from the history of photography and explore image structure, light, and composition. We talk about what a canon actually is, give each other short presentations on exemplary photographic positions, and discuss the results of our exercises. We also address the question of how our own position is inscribed in the photographs and what happens when we transform things into images.

In the course of the course, each person develops their own project, so that we also devote ourselves to the task of finding a theme and implementing it photographically.
