In the first semester, we will focus on the fundamentals of handmade pictorial representation. Through a series of short exercises, we will explore the themes of people, portraits and self-portraits. We will experiment with the basic principles of illustrative pictorial representation: line and surface, image design (composition, proportion, impression, reduction), principles and strategies of appropriation, sketching and notation.
