Green Museum Hub

Exhibition Kairo – Tunis – Würzburg

Exhibition concept for a trinational museum network

Information on the project background:
In the DAAD-funded, three-year third-party funded project “GreenMuseumHub” (https://greenmuseumhub.net/), Museum & Heritage Studies at the universities of Helwan (Cairo/Egypt), Manouba (Tunis/Tunisia) and Würzburg (Germany) are working together to initiate an international transfer of knowledge on the topic of sustainability in museums and heritage sites at eye level within the framework of a trinational museum network. The central communication medium in the sense of modern science communication is a multilingual touring exhibition developed jointly by students from all three universities, which is to be shown in all three countries from late fall this year: Here, examples of the sustainability strategies of the approximately 30 partner museums will be communicated in such a way that visitors will be motivated to consider what they can contribute to the topic of sustainability in their personal lives.

Workshop Design concept:
The rough concept for the content of the exhibition has already been developed by the universities, key texts have been written and contacts have been established with the partner museums and the co-exhibition groups in Cairo and Tunis. The summer semester will now be devoted to fleshing out and implementing the exhibition. The focus here will be on communication, designing the exhibition in an analog and digital format and advertising measures. In addition, titles and exhibition locations must be clarified so that a complete detailed concept including advertising and supporting program is available by the end of the semester.

The Faculty of Design supports the development of the exhibition concept within the framework of a workshop. Two block dates are planned in cooperation with the universities, with students from Cairo and Tunis joining digitally.

Participation in the workshop will be confirmed with a certificate.
