We’ve all heard the saying ‘opposites attract’ – yet in everyday life, it becomes clear that this idea doesn’t always hold true, especially when it comes to finding a partner. The perfect other half who is supposed to balance you out. Who is supposed to provide that balance.

Polly, too, believes she must find her better half in order to finally achieve balance. Inspired by the principle of yin and yang, she searches for the perfect counterpart. Yet the closer she gets to her goal, the more fragile the promised balance feels. The project tells a visual story about balance, identity and the question of whether wholeness truly arises from external sources – or perhaps from coming to terms with one’s own contradictions.
