TinkerLAB
Hands on Prototyping
The Object Lab is dedicated to the intensive exploration of three-dimensional form. Various techniques can be used to prototype a wide range of artefacts for products and (interactive) installations. Particular attention is paid to analogue design tools, including tactile methods of working in various materials (such as cardboard, clay and rigid foam) and subsequent techniques. Digital processes such as 3D modelling (Fusion 360), 3D scanning, 3D printing and laser cutting will also be explored.
- Do you have an idea but don’t know how to make it happen?
- Do you want to explore the possibilities of the Object Lab or try out certain techniques?
- Are you looking for an opportunity to discuss the state of your project with peers?
Then the TinkerLAB sessions are for you. Every Wednesday* evening from 18:00 – 20:00, the doors of the Object Lab are open to all questions! Just drop in.
The TinkerLAB is part of the DIY Campus Initiative with Prof. Johanna Diehl and Dr. Beatrice Barrois.

Introduction to ceramic 3D printing
In this introductory course, you will learn how to 3D print with clay.
You will receive a brief introduction to the world of 3D printing and learn how to use a ceramic 3D printer.
At the end, you will carry out your own test print.
No prior knowledge is necessary. However, the Fusion 360 software (free for students) is required to participate.
Please bring your laptop with the program pre-installed to the course.
