Natur, Biophilie – und wir?

Naturräume und biologische Systeme sind existentiell für uns und unsere Zukunft.
Sie sind fragil und an vielen Stellen aus dem Gleichgewicht, verletzt oder zerstört.
Biophilic Design erfährt seit etlichen Jahren einen Boom, Nachhaltigkeit wird zur verbindlichen und oft ausgenutzten Formel und manche resignieren angesichts der Klimakrise.
Vor diesem Hintergrund stellen wir uns in diesem Kurs die Frage nach unserem Bezug zu unserer naturräumlichen Umgebungen neu und schauen ins Detail. Wo stehen wir? Wie können wir weiter sensibilisieren für die Spezifisches, Vielfalt, Wirkung und Ästhetik?

In Ihrem Projekt kann uns Natur als Inspiration, als wissenschaftlicher Fokus, als poetischer und sozialer Ort begegnen, als Raum von Konflikten und für Utopien oder als Spielwiese für individuelle Interessen und gestalterische Exploration. Naturerkundung, Naturphilosophie, eine Exkursion zu Ausstellungen und Museen (Berlin) sind einige der Inputs auf dem Weg zum eigenen Projekt. Sie haben freie Medienwahl für die Umsetzung – von der fotografischen, zeichnerischen, grafischen Auseinandersetzung über eine räumliche Installation oder Ausstellung, bis hin zur virtuellen Annäherung an die Natur.

Natural spaces and biological systems are existential for us and our future.
They are fragile and often out of balance, damaged or destroyed.
Biophilic design has been booming for several years, sustainability is becoming a common and often misused formula, and some people are resigned in the face of the climate crisis.
Within this context, in this course we will re-examine the question of our relationship to our natural environment and take a closer look at the details. Where are we? How can we further sensitise ourselves to the specifics, diversity and aesthetics?

In your project, we can face nature as an inspiration, as a scientific focus, as a poetic and social place, as a space of conflicts and for utopias, or as a playground for individual interests and creative exploration. Nature exploration, natural philosophy, an excursion to exhibitions and museums (Berlin) are some of the inputs on the way to your own project. You have a free choice of media for implementation – from photographic, drawing and graphic exploration to a spatial installation or exhibition, or even a virtual approach to nature.
